ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has rejected a petition filed by former PML-N leader Muhammad Nawaz Sharif seeking a ban on his speeches. No risk, there is an alternative forum for such requests. According to details, a petition was filed in the Islamabad High Court by a citizen to ban the speeches of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

On which Chief Justice Atharmanullah, after arguments on the admissibility of the petition, ruled that the petition to ban Nawaz Sharif's speeches was rejected. Because the application is not worth hearing.

The court said in a four-page written decision that there was an alternative forum for such petitions. It is not in the public interest to bring political content to court.

The Chief Justice of the Islam High Court said that the petitioner could not be satisfied as to which of his rights were being affected. It may be recalled that the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) issued a statement on October 1 that interviews and speeches of fugitives and fugitives could not be aired on TV. According to the PEMRA Declaration, under Section 27 of the PEMRA Ordinance 2002 and the PEMRA Act 2007, interviews and speeches of fugitives cannot be broadcast. PEMRA said in a statement that it could not comment on the speeches or interviews of fugitive criminals. Following the PEMRA declaration, speeches of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif have been banned.

The Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court questioned the counsel for the petitioner as to which basic right of the petitioner has been affected. There are security agencies. After hearing the arguments, the court dismissed the petition as inadmissible.

The apex court in its judgment ruled that banning Nawaz Sharif's speeches was not a matter of public importance, adding that the High Court's intervention to ban Nawaz Sharif's speeches was not valid and the court could not intervene directly when there was an alternative procedure in law.
