Since the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh, who committed suicide a few months ago, Indian authorities have been investigating drug use in the incident. Simeon Khambata has been summoned before the Anti-Narcotics Bureau (NCB).
According to the Press Trust of India, senior NCB officials said that besides them, actress Deepika Padukone has also been asked to appear before the bureau on September 25 for questioning.
Similarly, actress Sara Ali Khan and Shardha Kapoor have been summoned on September 26.
Earlier, Deepika Padukone's manager Karishma Prakash was also called in for questioning but she has asked the bureau for more time due to ill health.
According to NCB, some drug related conversations have been found in Karisma Prakash's WhatsApp chat.
So far, the names of many Bollywood stars have come to light in terms of buying and using drugs.
In a post on her Instagram on Tuesday, actress Diya Mirza denied all allegations that her name was involved in a drug use probe.
Dia Mirza added that she is an Indian citizen with a very good reputation and she has the right to take legal action against all those who are spreading such rumors against her.
According to media reports, actress Dia Mirza has denied the allegation that she has ever used drugs. He also hinted at taking legal action in the matter.
Earlier on September 9, the anti-narcotics department in Kwandia arrested Bollywood actor Riya Chakraborty in a drug case related to the death of her boyfriend actor Shashant Singh Rajput.
The case, which began with the suicide of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, is now surrounded by questions related to drug abuse in Bollywood.
Shouk Chakraborty, brother of Riya Chakraborty, a friend of Sashant's earlier, was sent behind bars to investigate drug use.
Last Sunday, the Narcotics Control Bureau of India (NCB) arrested six others in the same case.
Actress Kangana Ranaut had accused '99 per cent 'of people working in Bollywood of using drugs and on the other hand, Mumbai police is also investigating Kangana regarding drug use.
Other famous Bollywood stars have remained silent on the issue.
