ISLAMABAD: The Economic Co-ordination Committee (ECC) has approved Rs 3.8 billion for the employees of Pakistan Steel Mills. The money will be used for salaries of steel mill employees during the current financial year.
According to sources, the meeting chaired by Finance Advisor Abdul Hafeez Sheikh approved the removal of additional customs duty and regulatory duty on textile products.
According to sources, the ECC has approved a supplementary grant of Rs 85 million for the expenditure of the National Heritage and Culture Division.
According to sources, the meeting approved a technical supplementary grant of Rs 102 million for the Islamabad High Court.
It may be recalled that the ECC meeting last week approved the import of customs duty free vehicles under the Disability Scheme.
According to the statement, the income limit of persons with disabilities has been increased from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 2 lakh per month for the import of vehicles.
According to the statement, the ECC approved the establishment of Pakistan Single Window Company and its directors. A technical supplementary grant of Rs. 219.63 million has been sanctioned for the National Command and Control Center (NCOC).
The ECC had approved an additional grant of Rs 6 billion for the Ministry of Railways. Rs 50 crore per month will be spent on salaries, pensions and necessary expenses.
According to the statement, supplementary grants of Rs 96.1 million were approved for religious madrassas. A supplementary grant of Rs. 16 crore was also approved for the skills program for all.
